Louisiana Style Hinge Set - Stainless Steel (4 Hinge Set)

from $159.00

Description

The Louisiana Style gravity locking shutter hinge is made of cast steel for strength, durability and corrosion resistance. This type of hinge holds shutters in the open position, tilted slightly back towards the house. It is popular in the southern US, particularly throughout Louisiana. This set is made of cast stainless steel, alloy 304.

Both the hinge and pintle have a 1-1/4″ offset, giving the set a total throw of 2-1/2″. The pintle is mounted to the inner jamb of the window cavity and the hinge mounts to the narrow side of the shutter. The pintle is double locking, meaning that it locks the shutter in the open position until the shutter is manually lifted and turned, and also prevents the shutter from being lifted off the house unless it is in the precisely correct, closed position.
